What information we collect, how it's used, and the choices you have.
Last updated: August 19, 2026
Easy Travel in Japan is a content site — you can browse services, guides, and destinations without creating an account or handing over personal information. This page explains what we do collect, how it's used, and how affiliate links factor in.
No account required
You can browse every service, guide, and destination without signing up or logging in.
We collect very little
We don’t run forms that ask for personal details, and we don’t build individual profiles of visitors.
We don’t sell your data
Information we do receive is used to understand site usage — never sold to third parties.
Information we collect
We don't run account sign-ups, newsletters, or contact forms on this site, so we don't hold a database of visitor names, emails, or addresses. The information we do receive comes from two sources:
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages and services are useful. This can include pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and request timestamps) for security and reliability purposes.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to distinguish you from other visitors and to remember your session. These cookies don't contain personal information such as your name or email. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings — see the FAQ below for details.
Affiliate links and partner sites
Some links on this site are affiliate links that take you to a partner's website — see ouraffiliate disclosure for how those work. Once you leave this site, your activity is governed by that partner's own privacy policy, not this one. We may receive aggregate information about whether a link was clicked or led to a booking, but we don't receive the personal details you provide on a partner's site (such as payment information).
How we use information
We use analytics data to see which services and guides are useful, fix broken pages, and decide what to write about next. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the analytics processor described above.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page as the site evolves. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
Frequently asked questions
Do you use cookies?
Google Analytics, described below, sets a small number of cookies to distinguish visitors and measure site usage. You can block or delete these through your browser settings at any time.
Do you sell or share my personal information?
No. We don’t sell personal information. Google processes analytics data on our behalf, as described below, but we don’t share it with other third parties.
What happens when I click a partner link?
You leave this site and land on the partner’s own website, which has its own privacy policy and its own data practices. We don’t control what happens there — check the partner’s policy for details.
How do I opt out of analytics?
You can use a browser extension such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on, block third-party cookies in your browser settings, or use a browser with built-in tracking protection.
How can I ask a question about my data?
